Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the Cleaner app ("Cleaner", "the app") uses, why, and what choices you have. Cleaner is published by Seven Mile Apps LLC ("we", "us") for iPhone and iPad (iOS) and for Android. Where the two versions differ, this policy says so with an iOS or Android label.
1. Information processed only on your device
These features need access to data on your device. It's read and processed locally, and results are stored only in the app's private storage.
| Feature | What the app reads | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Photo & video cleaning, Smart Cleaning, Swipe, Compression, Chat Media, Live Photos iOS | Your photos and videos (with photo library permission) | To find similar photos, screenshots, large videos and chat media, compress media, and remove items you choose. The app stores small image "fingerprints" (hashes) on your device so later scans are faster. |
| Places | Location data embedded in your photos. iOS If you tap "My Location", your current location is used to center the map. | To show your photos on a map and group them by place. |
| Contacts | Your contacts (with contacts permission) | To find duplicate and incomplete contacts and merge or delete the ones you choose. |
| Clean Calendar | Your calendar events (with calendar permission) | To find old and duplicate events and delete the ones you choose. |
| Unused Apps, App caches Android | Your list of installed apps, when each was last used and their storage size (with Usage Access, which you turn on in Android Settings) | To show apps you haven't opened in a while and how much space they and their caches use. |
| Junk Files Android | File names, types and sizes in shared storage (Deep clean needs All files access, which you turn on in Android Settings) | To find leftover installer files (APKs), empty folders, temporary and log files and large files, and delete the ones you select. |
| Battery | Battery level, health, temperature and charging state | To show battery information and charging animations. |
| Secret Space / Secure Vault | Photos, videos and contacts you choose to hide. Face ID or fingerprint is checked by your device's operating system; we never receive biometric data. | Hidden items are kept in the app's private storage behind your passcode. Android Items are encrypted, are not backed up, and are permanently deleted if you uninstall the app or clear its data. |
Cleaner never deletes anything without your confirmation. Deleted photos and videos go to your device's "Recently Deleted" album iOS or gallery trash Android, where they're kept for 30 days before the system removes them.
2. Gmail (Email Cleaner)
If you use Email Cleaner, you sign in with your Google account and grant Cleaner the Gmail permission https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.modify. iOS Google Sign-In also shares your name, email address and profile picture so we can show which account is connected.
What we access and keep
- Cleaner uses message metadata: the sender (From), date, size, Gmail labels/categories (Promotions, Social, Updates, Spam) and the "List-Unsubscribe" headers that senders include.
- Android The app requests only this metadata from Gmail. It never downloads email bodies or attachments.
- iOS The app downloads messages to your device to read these headers. Message bodies and attachments are not stored, analyzed or sent anywhere.
- The app keeps only a per-sender summary on your device (sender, email count, dates, message IDs and unsubscribe links).
How we use it
- To group your email by sender and category, so you can see who sends you the most mail.
- When you tap Unsubscribe, to send the unsubscribe request the sender provides. This is a web request to the sender's unsubscribe link, or an email to their unsubscribe address that you send from your mail app.
- When you choose, to move a sender's emails or your Spam folder to Gmail's Trash.
Where it goes
- Gmail data is processed and stored only on your device. It is never sent to our servers or shared with third parties. The only exception is the unsubscribe requests you start, which go directly to the sender.
- To show sender logos, the app requests a small icon for each sender's web domain (for example "example.com") from Google's public favicon service. Only the domain name is sent.
- No person at Seven Mile Apps reads your email.
- Gmail data is never used for advertising, never sold, and never used to train AI or machine-learning models. It is not shared with the analytics or advertising services in section 3.
You can disconnect Gmail at any time by signing out in the app. This removes Cleaner's access token and deletes the email information stored on your device. You can also remove access from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
3. Information shared with service providers
Subscriptions (both platforms)
Payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we never see your card details. We use Adapty to manage subscriptions and show paywalls. Adapty receives:
- Your purchase and subscription status.
- Device and app identifiers (an app-specific profile ID, device model, OS and app version, and, where you allow it, your device's advertising identifier).
- Paywall interactions.
Advertising (both platforms)
Free users see ads from Google AdMob. AdMob receives device identifiers (including the advertising identifier, where allowed), IP address, device information and ad interactions, to show and measure ads. Premium subscribers don't see ads.
- iOS iOS asks your permission (App Tracking Transparency) before the advertising identifier is used for tracking. You can change this anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android Where required by law (for example in the EU/UK), the app asks for your consent before showing personalized ads, using Google's consent tool. You can change your choice anytime in the app under Settings → Privacy Choices. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
Analytics and attribution iOS
The iOS app also uses these services to understand how the app is used, measure marketing and deliver notifications:
| Service | What it receives | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Analytics, Authentication, Realtime Database, Cloud Messaging, Performance Monitoring) | App usage events, an anonymous user ID, device and app information, a push-notification token, performance data | Analytics, app configuration, push notifications, app stability and speed |
| Mixpanel | App usage events, device and app information | Product analytics |
| AppsFlyer | Install and in-app events, device identifiers (including the advertising identifier if you allow tracking) | Measuring which ads and campaigns brought you to the app |
| Meta (Facebook SDK) | App events (such as installs and purchases) and device identifiers (including the advertising identifier if you allow tracking) | Ad measurement |
Android The Android app currently contains no analytics or attribution SDKs. If this changes, we'll update this policy first.
Features that connect to other services
- Speed Test. iOS Uses the SpeedChecker SDK. Test results, your IP address, network information and, if you've granted location permission, your approximate location are sent to SpeedChecker Ltd. to run the test and produce network statistics. Android Sends test data to Cloudflare's speed-test service (speed.cloudflare.com). Cloudflare can see your IP address; no personal data is sent.
- Places. Loads map images (Apple Maps iOS, OpenStreetMap Android). Android To show place names, the app uses your phone's built-in location service (Geocoder), which may send approximate coordinates of photo locations to your device's location provider.
- Email Cleaner. Connects to Gmail and makes the unsubscribe and favicon requests described in section 2.
- Support emails. If you contact us from the app, your email includes the app version, OS version and device model to help us help you.
4. Notifications
If you allow notifications, Cleaner sends occasional cleaning reminders. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. iOS The app may also receive push messages through Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can turn notifications off in the app's Settings or in your device settings.
5. What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't upload your photos, videos, files, contacts, calendar, app usage or emails to our servers.
- We don't share Gmail, photo, contact, calendar or file data with advertising or analytics services.
6. Data retention and deletion
- On-device data (scan results, image fingerprints, email sender summaries, settings, Secret Space) stays until you delete it. Deleting the app removes it.
- Gmail access ends when you sign out in the app or revoke access in your Google Account.
- Service providers (section 3) keep data under their own retention policies, linked above. Subscription records are kept as long as needed to provide your subscription and meet legal and accounting obligations.
- To request deletion of data held by us or our providers, email us at the address below with the subject "Data deletion request".
7. Security
Your data stays in Cleaner's private app storage, which other apps can't read. Network connections use encryption (HTTPS). Android Secret Space items are encrypted with keys held in your phone's secure hardware keystore.
8. Children
Cleaner is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. This includes the EU/UK under GDPR and California under the CCPA/CPRA. California residents may opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising: on iOS by declining tracking, and on Android by deleting your advertising ID or using Privacy Choices in the app where shown. Most of your data never leaves your device, so you control it directly. For other requests, contact us and we'll respond within the time required by law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will post the new version on this page and update the effective date.
